Responsibilities
Altec is looking for a Facility Environmental Engineer to join the team located in Creedmoor, NC

Qualifications
  • Pursuing an ABET EAC certified degree in Engineering required.
  • A degree in one of the following majors preferred:

  • Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering
  • Completion of Degree prior to start date required.
  • Two years of industrial environmental - related experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be willing to travel up to10% of the time, potentially on short notice, which may include flying.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures manufacturing is operating in compliance with current environmental regulatory codes and standards.
  • Participates and leads continuous improvement efforts in the area s of Environmental compliance.
  • Leads the integration of new Environmental initiatives into Manufacturing.
  • Drives implementation of capital projects .
  • Act as the point of contact for regulatory agencies (e.g., EPA) and local municipalities .
  • Operates with some decision-making latitude within the scope of an assignment.
  • Maintains a strong commitment to Prevention through Design principles using the Hierarchy of Controls.
  • Investigates incidents as part of Altec's team-orientated Environmental efforts to identify root causes and determine action items for corrective action.
  • Interfaces with Corporate Environmental Managers regarding implementation of the Corporate Environmental Program.
  • Create and maintain maps for emissions points, storm water inlets, outfalls, etc.
  • Lead daily compliance efforts with air , wastewater, and stormwater permits.
  • Lead solid and hazardous waste efforts at the facility.
  • Lead compliance efforts for metal finishing wastewater system.
  • May manage various sizes of Altec projects and/or act as Team Lead.

Basic Qualifications
  • Pursuing an ABET EAC certified degree in Engineering required.
  • A degree in one of the following majors preferred:

  • Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering
  • Completion of Degree prior to start date required.
  • Two years of industrial environmental - related experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision.
