Job description

Responsibilities
Purpose of Position:
Supervises a team that environmental programs in Creedmoor, NC. This person will ensure the facility complies with all current environmental regulations, as well as work to develop, implement, and monitor environmental programs, policies, and procedures.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate Altec's Environmental Program and report to the EHS Manager.
  • Prepare permits for regulatory agencies and ensure compliance.
  • Advance sustainability through benchmarking.
  • Act as the contact for regulatory agencies (e.g., EPA).
  • Submit required environmental reports.
  • Train staff on environmental compliance.
  • Perform environmental inspections.
  • Participate in problem-solving programs.
  • Lead and support Rapid Continuous Improvement (RCI) Events.
  • Update emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Manage hazardous materials and waste.
  • Maintain spill response equipment.
  • Manage "right-to-know" programs for hazardous substances.
  • Monitor new laws and ensure compliance.
  • Interface with Corporate Environmental Manager and local municipalities.
  • Support EH&S team initiatives as needed.

Basic Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • Bachelor's Degree and four years Altec experience, supervision & environmental preferred.

  • Bachelor's Degree and four years of industrial environmental-related supervision.
  1. OR
  • Three years Altec Supervision with five years total applicable experience.
  1. OR
  • Eight years external environmental-related supervision required.
