About You

We’re seeking a results-focused, innovative, self-driven, and well-qualified individual to join our talented team as our Application Engineering Manager. In this role, you will lead Application Engineering performance and disciplined customer solution delivery by directing laboratory and technical service engineering teams to conduct rigorous root-cause investigations, deliver defensible application recommendations, strengthen regional laboratory practices, and develop repeatable customer solution methodologies that support commercial success and are adoptable across global technical teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination and integration of Application Engineering and Technical Service resources by engaging Dymax technical expertise, leveraging cross-entity core competencies, and establishing structured, repeatable investigation and solution processes that deliver consistent customer outcomes
  • Optimize team application recommendations and root cause conclusions by applying subject-matter expertise, disciplined technical judgment, and customer-focused evaluation to guide engineers in developing consistent, defensible solutions for stakeholders
  • Develop vibrant, responsive, and high-performing laboratory and application engineering teams by recruiting, coaching, and performance managing engineers while assigning work, setting clear expectations, and reinforcing disciplined scientific methods, experimentation practices, and rigorous laboratory analysis
  • Efficiently disseminate product information, resolutions, and technical recommendations by directing coordinated cross-functional communication of investigation findings and solution alternatives with Customer Service, Sales, Production, R&D, Product Management, and Quality
  • Create product marketing and sales opportunities through technical engagement by partnering with customers, Territory Sales Managers, and channel partners in application design, product evaluation, and validation testing for new or revised offerings
  • Build product awareness and Dymax application capabilities across stakeholders by delivering structured technical training programs for internal teams, Sales Managers, channel partners, customers, and other stakeholders to expand application knowledge and product utilization
  • Strengthen departmental expertise and technical solution strategies by monitoring industry drivers, evaluating competitor technologies, analyzing market trends, and identifying shifts in customer applications that inform technical guidance and solution development
  • Deliver consistent, dependable quality assurance to customers by ensuring lab and application engineering teams follow disciplined scientific, environmental, legal, safety, and compliance practices while reinforcing a culture of technical rigor and customer focus

Requirements

You should have:

  • 5+ years leading technical teams within laboratory or application engineering environments
  • 5+ years of experience with adhesives and coatings preferred
  • BA/BS in Chemistry, Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalency
  • Proficiency and confidence using and training in laboratory best practices, dispensing and curing equipment
  • Microsoft Office and laboratory-related systems; ERP user familiarity – JD-E1 especially helpful
  • Precise, detail-oriented, but with a thirst for knowledge, and an ability to lead and motivate others

Salary: $106,000-$153,000

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Dymax salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range.
