Dura-Line Tape Machine Operator in West Valley City

Dura-Line, an Orbia Business, is on the lookout for a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Tape Machine Operator. In this entry-level role, you'll be responsible for crafting accessory tape using looms. No prior experience is necessary - just bring your enthusiasm and eagerness to learn!

Location: West Valley City, UT

Shift: 2nd Shift
Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:15pm

Responsibilities:

Load and Maintain Raw Materials: Keep the looms running smoothly by loading and maintaining the necessary raw materials on reels.

Yarn Knowledge: Learn and understand different yarn types commonly used and their applications in the weaving process.

Machine Operation: Ensure the continuous production of high-quality tape, from the beginning of the weaving process to the final product on the reel, all while prioritizing safety and efficiency.

Maintenance Tasks: Check and maintain lube levels in the lubricator, verify proper weaving of weft and lockstitch, program printers for required messages, and monitor fluid levels.

Quality Control: Check and maintain print quality, measurement markings, and appropriately label or tag products processed off the printer.

Mechanical Skills: Develop mechanical aptitude and troubleshoot problems as they arise.

Safety Compliance: Follow all safety requirements, adhere to policies and procedures outlined in the associate handbook, and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Additional Duties: Be flexible to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Requirements:

Language Skills: Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.

Safety Awareness: Adherence to all Safety Measures and Procedures (GMP's, SOP's).

Technical Skills: Ability to read measuring instruments and a keen interest in troubleshooting and problem-solving.

Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 30 lbs with or without assistance, with occasional bending and staying in a bent-over position.

Work Schedule: Flexibility for long shifts, weekends, and nights. Attendance on scheduled workdays is mandatory.

Warehouse Experience: Prior experience in a warehouse setting is required.

Equipment Handling: Experience with forklifts and pallet jacks is a plus.

Concrete Floor Work: Ability to walk and stand on a concrete floor for extended periods.

The compensation for this position is $22/hr with a $1.50 shift differential. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.

The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation.
