Job Description

NBC 6 and Telemundo 51 are seeking a bilingual journalist with deep expertise in vertical video editing, social media, and SEO. This role is ideal for a producer who knows how to transform news into compelling, multiplatform content.

This person will play a key role in shaping how our brand connects with audiences across social platforms while continuing to drive traffic to our sites.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create daily social content—including reels, stories, and carousels—using a variety of sources for multiplatform distribution, while demonstrating consistent, strong news judgment
  • Monitor a variety of video sources to identify content that would appeal to our audiences
  • Support reporters with the creation of original vertical videos
  • Stay on the cutting-edge of digital multimedia trends and innovation
  • Stay up to date with local and national news stories
  • Curate YouTube channels
  • Contribute to the creation of video series for OTT, FAST and all platforms
  • Create content for linear/broadcast platforms, which could include writing scripts or editing video
  • Be a problem solver who can make decisions under stress and tight deadlines
  • Translate content between English and Spanish when needed
  • Contribute to enterprise projects that support local news coverage
  • Coordinate and monitor the streaming of live events and newscasts on our platforms
  • Abide by the ethical standards of the NBC News Group and Telemundo Station Group when creating and producing content for all platforms
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of multimedia experience at a major news organization that creates content under tight deadlines
  • Proficient with Adobe Premiere and other professional editing programs
  • Experience working with an online publishing tool or content management system
  • Experience with writing and/or editing and/or producing daily video products
  • A track record of creative storytelling across multiple web platforms and an understanding of what works best in different platforms
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required
  • Must be available to work overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or required
  • Must have a flexible schedule with ability to work any of a 24x7 shift and willingness to travel and work long hours and on weekends and holidays with short notice
  • Must be willing to work in Miramar, FL
  • Must be 18 years or greater
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to work in high-risk emergency situations, including hurricanes
  • Team player mentality
