Role Overview
RTS is looking for a motivated Business Development Manager to support our growing business development efforts globally, focusing on servicing our game publisher partners, executing strategic partnerships and broadly supporting product and marketing teams with external publisher communications and operations.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in account management and capable of seeing complex operational projects through to completion while maintaining strong professional relationships across the gaming industry.
This role primarily focuses on the account management and servicing of game publisher partners specific to Evo. This includes maintaining regular communications, business updates, strategic deal-making, collaborative co-marketing and more. In addition, this role supports broader business development functions including the development of Evo's media rights business, strategic partnerships, and procurement processes on behalf of RTS and Evo.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Partner Support
  • Act as the day-to-day point of contact for established publishing partners across the globe, regularly providing business updates, co-marketing opportunities and overall ensuring their needs are met and projects stay on track.
  • Act as the day-to-day point of contact for media rights licensees and other strategic partners
  • Facilitate the execution of collaborations with publisher partners, moving from initial deal terms through to final implementation.
  • Manage internal workflows across event and content teams to ensure all partner deliverables and contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Assist senior leadership in the administration and tracking of multi-year agreements and regional publisher deals.
Global Business Development & Deal Execution
  • Support global business development efforts by identifying and reaching out to potential commercial opportunities with international platforms, IP holders, and rights distributors.
  • Supporting senior members of the team and at times, leading the deal making process with prospective strategic partners, including but not limited to game publishers, media rights holders, local governments, licensees and other businesses
  • Assist in the creation of global pitch materials and proposals for Evo and RTS services, tailored for a diverse international audience.
  • Support the operational rollout of global licensing expansions and collaborative content programs across the fighting game community.
  • Monitor and report on global business development trends, ensuring RTS remains competitive in the international live events and media space.
Cross-Functional Operations
  • Support international operations partners with the execution and delivery of Evo's global events including but not limited to Evo Japan and Evo Las Vegas
  • Support the needs of internal product, marketing and business teams with game publisher partners, coordinating and facilitating asset management & delivery
  • Work with internal business affairs, legal & finance teams to streamline procurement, manage international invoicing, and ensure contract compliance.
  • Support the brand partnerships team in delivering global sponsorship assets and providing data-driven post-event reports to international partners.

Qualifications
  • Ability to work legally in your current place of residence with the capacity for frequent international travel.
  • 5-8 years of experience in account management or business development within the global video game or entertainment industry.
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects and client accounts across multiple international regions.
  • Professional fluency in English
  • Deep understanding of the global gaming ecosystem, publisher relations, and the international competitive landscape.
  • Strong ability to work independently in a remote-first environment across diverse time zones.
  • Flexibility to support early morning or late evening meetings as needed for global partner and team alignment.

Bonus Points
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Experience working with global publishers such as Capcom, Bandai Namco, Riot Games, or Epic Games or global IP rights holders such as Disney, LEGO or other
  • Demonstrated success navigating cross-cultural dynamics in a professional, global business environment.
  • Familiarity with global media rights distribution or international procurement workflows.
  • Professional fluency in Japanese
