Cambria County is seeking a professional full-time Clerk Typist 1 to help with the daily office functions of Cambria County Children and Youth Service. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Clerk Typist 1 is an entry-level clerical position in Cambria County Children and Youth Service. You will provide essential clerical support that ensures records are accurate, helps professional staff meet important deadlines, and keeps office operations running smoothly. With our team, you will perform the following duties:


  • Prepare Documents: Type letters, forms, and court documents for professional casework staff and supervisors; proofread, follow formatting rules, and make grammatical corrections; and make photocopies as needed
  • Organize Records: Scan documents, upload them to the correct place, and file physical documents in case records
  • Data Entry: Enter data for intakes and screen outs into our computer database
  • Handle Mail: Use the postage meter to stamp outgoing mail, send outgoing mail, and distribute interoffice mail
  • Reception Support: Answer incoming phone calls and cover the front desk for our receptionists when needed
  • Teamwork: Prioritize workload based on time frames involved, adapt to allow for unpredictable clerical duties and typing, and help with other office work


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
