Job description

The California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS) is seeking to hire a student assistant to work under close supervision of the Treasury manager. In a learning capacity, the student assistant will be responsible for sorting, receiving, and processing remittances received for member and employer contributions, member accounts receivable payments, and cash balance receipts as well as, help process other miscellaneous cash receipts items including payments from CalSTRS employees for employee accounts receivables. In addition to processing cash related transactions, the student assistant will also be tasked with various entry-level administrative and project-based assignments and use our ERP system, BusinessDirect, as well as other accounting systems.This position will also assist in analyzing cash flows and working with staff to complete cash forecasts and reporting on cash management metrics.
