Job Description
The Life Enrichment Activities Assistant is responsible for supporting and assisting the Life Enrichment Director in designing, creating, initiating, facilitating, and implementing a wide variety of multi-level meaningful recreational and educational programs for our Independent Living (IL), and Assisted Living (AL) neighborhoods.
  • Assists with developing, planning, and implementing a monthly program of activities and supplies based on the dimensions of wellness (i.e. Movement & Motion, Curiosity & Culture, Feelings & Fellowship, Clarity & Purpose, Compassion & Connection and Leadership & Volunteerism) Harmony signature programs and person-centered interests.
  • Leads 6-7 high quality programs per day.
  • Assists in surveying and interviewing residents to complete the Resident Life Profile and to determine their past and present interests and talents as well as their satisfaction with the community's programs and activities.
  • Partners and coordinates with entire program team (i.e. LED, HSD, & HS assistant) to complete planning form, organize supplies, plan the calendars, events, and outings for the upcoming month.
  • Develops relationships and connections with residents and families to encourage participation in programs and events and to promote a high level of resident and family satisfaction.
  • Assists in documenting and maintaining all records as required.
  • Assists in organizing and attending resident council meetings.
  • Assists in organizing, maintaining, and staging programming areas and supplies with purpose and neatly.
  • Assists in recruiting, coordinating, and overseeing a robust volunteer program.
  • Assists in promoting programs by preparing and posting daily notices and posters as required.
  • Assists in arranging chairs, tables, and sporting or exercise equipment in specified areas for scheduled group or one-on-one activities and returning to normal structure when completed.
  • Assists in resident transportation to get groceries, shopping, leisure activities and other resident activities. May transport residents to physician appointments occasionally as directed.
  • Assists in off-site outings for residents, providing transportation and safe coordination for participants.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma and/or experience; subject to state requirements; Entry level position with 1-3 years experience highly desired.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexible, consistent, imaginative, engaging and have a passion for working with seniors.
  • Experience organizing, conducting, and planning programs and activities.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be in good physical condition and be able to sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk, and lift to 50 lbs.
