The Opportunity

FOCO is seeking a Product Designer I – Collectibles & Bobbleheads to support the design and development of licensed collectible products across sports and entertainment categories.

This is an entry-level/junior role ideal for someone passionate about collectibles, pop culture, toys, sports fandom, and product design. You'll help bring concepts to life across bobbleheads, figurines, statues, novelty collectibles, and limited-edition fan products.

You'll collaborate closely with Product Development, Licensing, Sourcing, and overseas factories to support the full lifecycle of products from concept through production.

What You'll Do

Collectible Product Design

  • Assist in the design and development of licensed collectibles including bobbleheads, figurines, statues, novelty products, and fan collectibles
  • Support creation of product concepts, sketches, turnarounds, and presentation materials
  • Help translate 2D concepts into commercially viable 3D collectible products

Licensed Product Development

  • Design within league, team, and entertainment licensor guidelines
  • Support artwork submissions and approval tracking processes
  • Maintain consistency across licensed product lines and collectible series

Product Development & Sample Support

  • Assist with creation of product specifications, reference materials, and tech packs
  • Support prototype reviews, sculpt revisions, paint/deco approvals, and sample feedback
  • Help ensure products align with cost, margin, quality, and timeline expectations

Vendor & Factory Collaboration

  • Work closely with overseas factories and internal product teams
  • Support sample tracking, revisions, and production communication
  • Travel internationally throughout Asia (including China, Vietnam, and other manufacturing regions) up to 20% to support factory visits, product reviews, development meetings, and manufacturing alignment

Trend & Market Research

  • Research trends across sports collectibles, toys, entertainment, fan culture, and pop culture
  • Identify opportunities for new collectible concepts and retail programs
  • Contribute to mood boards, concept decks, and innovation sessions

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Licensing, Product Development, Sales, and Merchandising teams
  • Support presentations, line reviews, and internal product meetings
  • Help maintain organized product development files and documentation

What You'll Bring

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Toy Design, Graphic Design, or related field
  • 0–2 years of experience (internship or entry-level role) in design or product development
  • Strong interest in collectibles, toys, figurines, bobbleheads, or fan merchandise
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, product-driven environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally throughout Asia up to 20% as part of the product development process

REQUIRED: Must provide a professional portfolio (URL or PDF) showcasing relevant design work, concept development, collectibles, toys, product design, or 3D creative work. Applications without a portfolio will NOT be considered.

Preferred

  • Experience or coursework related to toy, collectible, figurine, or character design
  • Exposure to licensed sports or entertainment products
  • Experience with 3D design, sculpting, rendering, or modeling software is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with sculpting workflows, collectible development, or prototype review processes
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and/or 3D design tools
  • Passion for sports, collectibles, and pop culture
