CGI is seeking an entry-level System Administrator to join our Global Technology Operations team in Phoenix, AZ. This role supports critical enterprise systems and services that enable CGI to deliver high-quality outcomes for our clients. As a CGI member, you will be part of a collaborative, fast-paced environment where accountability, continuous improvement, and client success are top priorities.
This role is in Phoenix, Arizona and required flexibility to work overnight and weekend coverage shifts as required.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Respond promptly and effectively to operating system incidents, outages, and service requests to ensure system availability and reliability.
• Monitor system performance using enterprise monitoring tools and proactively address potential issues to prevent service degradation.
• Manage incident and request tickets in accordance with established SLAs and IT service management best practices.
• Support the stability of UNIX and Windows environments through daily operational tasks and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to automation efforts by helping streamline and improve routine administrative processes.
• Collaborate with peers, technical teams, and stakeholders across CGI to resolve issues and improve operational efficiency.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with both technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership and client-facing teams.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• 1-3 years of system administration experience in any size environment.
• Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED
• Foundational understanding of UNIX and Windows operating systems.
• Basic knowledge of networking concepts.
• Strong interest in automation and continuous improvement.
• Working knowledge of shell scripting (Bash, KornShell, Perl, or Python).
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
• Experience using source control tools (e.g., GitLab).
• Familiarity with orchestration or job scheduling tools such as Rundeck.
• Experience working with an incident management system (e.g., ServiceNow or Remedy).
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to audiences at all levels of the organization.

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $42,600.00 - $70,300.00.
