Summary

The Assistant Project Manager an integral part of the team and is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at a construction site. They will interact with everyone from construction trade partners to homeowners. The Assistant Project Manager is the entry-level path to becoming a Construction Project Manager so this person will have the ability to learn from our team of and Project Managers. This is a great position for someone eager to break into the construction industry. On-the-job training will be provided to help you continue to grow throughout your career. As an Assistant Project Manager, they will work closely with 2-4 Project Managers. With regular, frequent communication with the Project Managers, this person will be responsible for completing the most time-sensitive related activities. These items could include material deliveries, follow up phone calls, trade partner questions, and many others. The Assistant PM will actively “pull” work from the PMs as their capacity increases.

This person will work in the field on job sites daily delivery materials, cleaning up, and other tasks so you must be able to lift 30 pounds, have a valid driver's license, and ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time.


Position Responsibilities:

· Assist with installing and maintaining dust protection

· Ensure jobsite cleanliness

· Support coordination of dumpsters and porta-johns

· Assist with Home Depot and other store runs

· Shop vac jobsites

· Builder Trend updates: Log hours in Builder Trend. Complete Buildertrend logs and add pictures as requested by Project Manager.

· Serve as an active member of the project management team and attend PM L10 meeting

· Payne & Tompkins culture infusion with trade partners

· Collaborate with Project Manager to ensure all projects are running efficiently

· Other tasks as assigned by Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager

· Accurate hour logging for job-related time is being kept daily.

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

· High School Diploma and 0-3 years of work experience

· Strong problem-solving skills

· Highly organized

· Strong customer service skills

· Deep understanding of core values with the ability infuse those within the field

· Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, in a professional manner

· Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and pass a background check

· Ability to work independently and maintain a consistent 40-hour workweek

· Perform physical labor

· Proficient in Microsoft programs and construction software, (or ability to learn it quickly)

· Ability to adjust and be flexible to sudden demands with a “go above & beyond” attitude
