Automotive Service Technician

Graff Chevrolet GMC – Michigan City, IN

Graff Chevrolet GMC of Michigan City is expanding our Service Department and is seeking an Service technician who takes pride in their work and are committed to quality repairs and exceptional customer service.

Position Overview

As an Automotive Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining customer vehicles while delivering the high level of quality and professionalism Graff Chevrolet GMC is known for.

GM experience is preferred but not required. We value strong fundamentals, a good attitude, and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs accurately and efficiently

  • Complete work in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards

  • Communicate findings and recommended repairs clearly to the service team

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

  • Maintains cleanliness of vehicles while performing service or repairs
  • Attends all staff meetings, training, and educational classes as required
  • Work collaboratively with advisors and fellow technicians to meet shop goals
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of automotive repair experience 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
  • Professional and dependable
  • Safety and customer service oriented
  • Basic computer and internet skills
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Professional appearance and work ethic
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
  • Entry Level Tech may have work experience
  • GM experience preferred but not required
  • ASE certifications preferred
