Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Entry-Level Mechanic to join our team at Apex Waste Solutions. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about automotive repair and looking to develop their skills in a hands-on environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in mechanics and a willingness to learn from experienced professionals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in diagnosing and repairing vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Use hand and power tools to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Keep accurate records of services and repairs completed.
  • Communicate effectively with senior mechanics and customers about the condition of vehicles.
  • Continuously learn and develop new skills under the guidance of senior team members 


Qualifications:


Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.


Experience: 

  • Basic understanding of automotive systems and repair techniques.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Previous experience in automotive repair is a plus, but not required.


Skills: 

  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
  • Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems (preferred).
  • Ability to read and follow technical manuals, diagrams, and work orders.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills for coordinating with drivers, supervisors, and other technicians.
  • Time management and organizational skills to handle multiple maintenance tasks.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, procedures, and equipment.
  • Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic computer skills for completing digital maintenance logs and service reports.


Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday's.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods of time.
