Job Description:

Computer Integration Technologies, Inc. (CIT) is hiring a Structured Cabling Technician. This is a hands-on field deployment role focused on commercial structured cabling and installing Verkada security systems in commercial and industrial environments. With a focus on excellent customer service, you will install, maintain, and repair low voltage cable infrastructure while supporting physical security system deployments. Things you can expect to do:
  • Perform major and minor preventive maintenance and repairs by troubleshooting cabling system issues.

  • Identify, track, and remove abandoned cables.
  • Test every newly installed or relocated cable in accordance with established procedures.
  • Keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of National Building Codes and standards.
  • Record time and materials used.
  • Assist other members of the team with installation and maintenance.
  • Work in various environments including outdoors in varying degrees of weather, working at heights on ladders and lifts, and in small, confined spaces.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and test equipment.
  • Follow CIT and client safety protocols.
  • Represent CIT professionally with customers.
  • Participate in required training and attend company meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


What youโ€™ll learn and grow into:

  • Install, program, and troubleshoot cloud-managed physical security systems, including cameras, access control, and related devices.
  • Build out commercial telecommunications and server rooms, including racks, patch panels, cable pathways, and related infrastructure.
  • Strengthen your skills in testing, documentation, and enterprise installation standards.
  • Expand your knowledge of physical security and structured cabling in environments such as business, education, healthcare, financial services, and manufacturing.


Day 1 Minimum Requirements:

  • Cleanly terminate and test Cat6 data cables, including RJ45 terminations, patch panels, and keystone jacks.
  • Read floor plans and diagrams and accurately pull cable through commercial pathways such as J-hooks, conduit, and drop ceilings.
  • Comfortably and safely use basic hand tools and work on ladders and lifts.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers and coworkers on active job sites.


Required qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of commercial or industrial low voltage cabling experience required. Experience may include Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic, or security system installations. Residential-only experience will not be considered.
  • Foundational cabling competency, including the ability to independently terminate, dress, and test Cat6 cables to commercial standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams.
  • Valid Driverโ€™s License and reliable transportation.
  • Power Limited Technician License is a plus. If not currently licensed, ability to obtain within 3 years.
  • This position requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time out of state for up to 1 week at a time. Travel stays within the Midwest and a company vehicle is used for these projects.
  • This position may require shift work as part of an organization that operates 24/7/365 and may require the ability to work weekends, evenings, overnight, or holidays as needed.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to reach, grasp, lift, and carry boxes and other items up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to accomplish fine motor tasks relating to typing and manipulating wires.
  • Ability to set up and climb on ladders and operate scissor and boom lifts.
  • Occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
  • Must be able to meet all the physical requirements of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Pay Information:

This is an exempt, salaried position with a starting pay range of $50,000โ€“$65,000 annually.
Actual compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. At CIT, we strive to offer fair and competitive pay by considering both individual and market factors.


Work location:

CITโ€™s office is located in Woodbury, Minnesota. This position will have a blend of daily visits to customer sites across the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN and western Wisconsin area and weekly or biweekly visits to CITโ€™s office.
