Job Summary:
Bechtel is seeking an Entry-Level Formwork & Shoring Engineer to support the design, planning, and execution of temporary works systems for large industrial, infrastructure, and energy projects. This role is intended for an early-career engineer who is eager to learn formwork, shoring, and falsework design while working closely with experienced engineers, construction teams, procurement, suppliers, and field personnel. The successful candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, a fast learner, and committed to safety, quality, and continuous professional growth. The position reports to the Engineering Manager and Lead Formwork & Shoring Engineer. #LI-TH1
Major Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the design and analysis of formwork, shoring, and falsework systems for concrete construction under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, material take-offs, sketches, calculations, and technical documentation for review.
  • Support coordination with field engineering and construction teams to improve constructability and efficient project execution.
  • Assist in reviewing supplier drawings, designs, and material lists for alignment with project requirements, codes, and standards.
  • Provide technical support during planning, installation, and construction activities with appropriate supervision.
  • Participate in constructability reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering discussions.
  • Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to support material planning and on-time deliveries to job sites.
  • Support field visits, as required, to observe work activities and assist with technical questions.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 0-2 years of engineering, construction, internship, co-op, or related project experience.
  • Basic understanding of structural engineering principles, concrete construction, and construction sequencing.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural, civil, and architectural drawings.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar engineering/design software.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary project environment.
  • Familiarity with Revit, Tekla, or other 3D modeling tools is an asset
