HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT
Your Role:
  • The position requires communication, analytical and organizational skills
  • The incumbant is responsible for instructing staff on proper decontamination, cleaning, assembly, sterilization and high-level disinfection of all reusable instrumentation in the medical facility and satellite areas.
  • Creating and demonstrating knowledge of department policies and procedures regarding sterilization/high-level disinfection;
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring departmental policies and procedures which support the organizational goals and business objectives and ensuring they are met performing comprehensive audits on staff competency and reporting timesensitive information or non-compliance to Sterile Processing Manager
  • Collaborating with department managers and Supervisors to assure staff competency and compliance
  • Mentoring to increase their awareness as it relates to sterile processing; possessing knowledge and ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Brings in experts in the field to educate staff and improve processes
  • Monitoring and assisting in staff Continuing Education Units; monitor and instruct staff on quality feedback.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY
Minimum Education:
  • High School graduate.

Preferred Education:
  • Bachelors Degree

Minimum Experience:
  • 2 years of experience in sterile processing, operating rooms or similar setting, acquired knowledge of decontamination, and sterilization sciences, case cart systems and medical/surgical supplies and equipment

Preferred Experience:
  • Educator or Supervisory experience in a high volume hospital and knowledge of Instrument Tracking system.

Required Certification/License/Registry:
  • CBSPD Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or IAHCSMM Certified Registered Central Service Technician
    (CRCST)

Preferred Certification/License/Registry:
  • CBSPD Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist (CSIS) or IAHCSMM Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS), and CBSPD Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) or IAHCSMM Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER)
