OVERVIEW:
As a Maintenance Electrical Technician, you will be an integral part of our maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of plant and manufacturing equipment. You will uphold high standards of safety, quality, and workmanship while performing a wide range of maintenance tasks. Your duties will include diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic malfunctions, as well as performing preventive maintenance and equipment installations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety and Quality Compliance:
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of plant safety policies and procedures, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with these standards.
  • Adhere to plant environmental policies and procedures, understanding their impact on daily duties.
  • Uphold high standards of quality and workmanship in all maintenance activities to ensure operational efficiency and product integrity.

Root Cause Analysis and Troubleshooting:
  • Drive every issue to its root cause failure or malfunction, utilizing a combination of electrical and mechanical knowledge.
  • Utilize electrical multimeters, meggers, amprobes, and similar instruments proficiently to diagnose and address equipment issues effectively.

Installation and Maintenance:
  • Install and startup new manufacturing or support equipment, including foundation preparation, assembly, leveling, and alignment according to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on plant and manufacturing equipment per documented procedures, assisting in developing maintenance schedules and procedures.

Repair and Fabrication:
  • Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions on plant and manufacturing equipment, including finding and replacing blown fuses, repairing damaged wiring, and replacing defective components.
  • Design, layout, fit, and install conduit, cable trays, and other industrial wiring systems.
  • Plan material requirements and fabricate tools, components, or assemblies using common materials and methods such as welding and bolting.

Technical Expertise:
  • Conduct bench repair and rebuild of electrical and mechanical equipment components.
  • Perform layout, fitting, and installation of screwed or welded piping components and systems.
  • Demonstrate entry-level operation of machine tool job shop equipment, including mills, lathes, and surface grinders.

Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify and implement improvements in materials, methods, and processes to enhance profitability and efficiency.
  • Proactively contribute to root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts to prevent recurring issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in using electrical and mechanical tools and instruments.
  • Basic understanding of CNC machine controls and machine shop equipment operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and heights.
  • Capable of standing, bending, and performing physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
