BACKGROUND

As a nonprofit organization, it believes in the importance of community outreach and service.
In an effort to help enhance Arizona communities through youth, sports and education, Fiesta Sports Foundation commits more than $3 million in annual charitable giving, the most of any college football bowl organization. Over the last seven years, the Foundation has donated more than $23 million in charitable giving to nonprofit organizations across the state.
Since 1971, the Fiesta Sports Foundation has worked to increase its footprint across the state and to benefit Arizonans year-round, during and outside of bowl season.
Fiesta Sports Foundation provides opportunities that immerse students in a professional working environment while introducing them to the nonprofit sports industry. The Foundation's fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment offers students a rich experience within their assigned area, while also exposing them to multiple functional areas of the organization to reinforce the important role collaboration plays in delivering successful events.
SUMMARY
This fellowship with the Fiesta Sports Foundation will have a primary focus in the area of event operations and management, assisting with the planning, coordination, promotion, and execution of Foundation events and initiatives. This individual will support event logistics, operational planning, partner communication, and team services while gaining exposure to multiple functional areas across the organization.
Additionally, this position will have regular, on-going interaction and communication with vendors, participating teams, travel parties, operational partners, and Foundation staff. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter seeking hands-on experience in the nonprofit sports and event management industry, while also developing a broad understanding of collaborative event execution in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with event operations, administration, and communication efforts for Fiesta Sports Foundation events
  • Support advanced planning initiatives and onsite event logistics
  • Assist with vendor coordination, contracting, and partner management
  • Support event budgeting, financial reconciliation, invoicing, and reporting processes
  • Assist with team operations, including support for participating teams, travel parties, and team services
  • Compile and create after-action reports for events and Foundation initiatives
  • Support event logistics, inventory tracking, and asset management
  • Assist with Foundation programs, special projects, and research initiatives as assigned
  • Collaborate with multiple departments and event stakeholders to ensure successful event execution

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or currently pursuing relevant field of study
  • Self-starter with a strong interest in sports, nonprofit operations, and event management
