Job description

Job Summary:
Raft is a customer-obsessed non-traditional small business focused on Distributed Data Systems and Complex Application Development. The Systems Engineer will support the United States Space Force by developing software and providing technical assistance for cyber operations.
Responsibilities:
• provide the United States Space Force (USSF) Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) for the Digital Bloodhound program
• developing software in support of Space Systems Command (SSC) Cyber Operations Branch rapid agile development of defensive cyber solutions to protect, defend, and respond to both ground and space based cyber adversarial threats
• managing and monitoring installed hardware and software systems
• assisting with network tap design and system survey to ensure data is properly sampled and transported
• evaluating existing systems and assists with technical refreshes
• lead and/or assist with hardware installation and software deployment at mission system sites
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in System Administration (Linux and apps)
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development or STEM related specialty
• Experience in JIRA, Confluence, & Slack or Mattermost
• CCNA, Security+, CCNP, JNCIS-Sec, JNCDA or equivalent
• Experience communicating with customers, stakeholders, and agile software development teams
• Active Secret Security Clearance
Preferred:
• Experience with requirements analysis, scaled agile framework, data analytics, risk management, and agile transformations
• Technical experience in software development, systems engineering, integration, or release management
• Full-stack development experience
• Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in Space Systems Command
• Experience with Cyber Operations Branch (SSC/SZWO) program office
• Ability to guide teams and mentor junior members
• Understanding of data security practices
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong analytical skills
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Any certification related to data management, data engineering, software development, cyber security or SAFe would be beneficial
