Position Overview
As an Entry-Level Slope Grooming & Snow Removal Operator at Mt. Hood Meadows, you'll help keep the mountain safe, accessible, and ready for guests throughout the winter season. You'll operate snowcats, articulated loaders, and other snow removal equipment to groom ski slopes and maintain access to lifts, lodges, parking areas, and other essential resort facilities.
Working closely with the Slope Grooming team, you'll learn to operate specialized equipment while developing your skills in snow grooming, snow removal, and mountain operations. This is a hands-on position that requires attention to detail, sound judgment, strong communication, and a commitment to safety. You'll work both independently and as part of a team in challenging alpine conditions, including nighttime operations and changing winter weather.
We're looking for someone who is dependable, safety-minded, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn. Previous grooming or heavy equipment experience is helpful but not required. If you're ready to build your skills, take pride in your work, and play an important role in keeping Mt. Hood Meadows operating safely and efficiently, this is a great opportunity to Find Your Line at Mt. Hood Meadows.
This is a full-time, seasonal position
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Be at least 19 years of age
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Minimum 3 years of Park Grooming Experience
  • Basic knowledge of terrain park design and construction
  • Have excellent verbal communication skills
  • Have a reliable plan to get to work during winter conditions
  • Available to work weekends and holidays during the ski and snowboard season
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal business

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Be able to work on a full-time basis
  • Possess basic computer skills (MS Office)
  • Previous Slope Grooming Experience
  • Previous Winch Cat Operation Experience
  • Previous halfpipe construction and maintenance experience
  • In depth knowledge of Meadows terrain park layout and construction

Compensation:
  • Starting Wage: $21.25 - $23.38 Hourly
