Position Summary

Join our dynamic R&D team at Steris! We are seeking a design engineer with experience in power electronics and motor control. As part of this role, you will be involved in all aspects of the product lifecycle, from initial design to manufacturing. Collaboration and teamwork are essential, as you will work closely with colleagues to drive innovation and excellence.

What You'll do as an Assoc Electrical Engineer
  • Designs PC Boards and Flexible Circuit Boards for use in the repair of surgical devices.
  • Measures and documents electrical and physical aspects of electronic parts.
  • Measures and characterizes electrical operation of circuits and systems using electrical test equipment.
  • Analyzes and identifies communication protocols used in circuits and systems using oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, and other various test equipment.
  • Designs equivalent circuits to emulate function and operation of existing electronic components and circuits.
  • Writes entry level software to emulate function and operation of existing electronic components and circuits.
  • Designs programming and tests fixtures for electronic assemblies.
  • Identifies and sources electronic components.
  • Works with vendors to fabricate PCB, Flexible Circuits, electrical cables, and miscellaneous electronic assemblies.
  • Builds, tests, and debugs prototype electronic assemblies.
  • Creates and maintains design and process documentation.
  • Conducts failure analysis and identify critical components.
  • Works under medium supervision.
The Experience, Abilities and Skills Needed
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineer or similar field
  • Up to 3 years of experience in a regulated industry is preferred. (Medical Devices preferred)
  • Up to 3 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, preferably in a regulated industry.
  • Digital and analog electronic circuit design experience with emphasis on embedded microcontroller/microprocessor.
  • Proficient in C programming, experience in microcontroller firmware.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various electronic communication protocols.
  • Experience in computer aided PCB design (Altium Designer strongly preferred).
  • Aptitude for hands-on tasks.

Pay range for this opportunity is $65,000-77,000. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
