The Remote Support Specialist (RSS) apprentice is an entry-level role within the Intelligent Services team, supporting regional service delivery by providing remote HVAC and BAS support. This position plays a key role in enhancing building performance, delivering connected services, and supporting Account Engineers, Account Managers, and Local Technicians through highquality technical assistance and customer communication.
Responsibilities
Maintain a working understanding of HVAC systems and BAS controls, staying up to date on Trane Controls software/hardware updates.
Review service advisories and respond in alignment with regional service delivery expectations.
Accept, review, and action remotesupport service requests for regional customer sites.
Perform BAS remote inspections and prepare clear, comprehensive summary reports tailored to customer needs.
Complete connectedservices setup activities, including data mapping, tuning, point validation, and analytics configuration.
Participate in technical reviews with Optimization Engineers (OE) and Account Engineers (AE).
Contribute to strategic account reviews with the Intelligent Services team.
Maintain basic understanding of IT and networking concepts used to troubleshoot connectivity or system performance issues.
Identify energy conservation measures (ECMs), operational improvements, and optimization opportunities; document these as leads, recommendations, or quotes per established processes.
Act as a trusted advisor to customers by providing technical insights and consultative recommendations.
Use Salesforce daily for task management, documentation, and case handling.
Stay informed about Trane digital offerings and apply them to customer needs.
Complete all required documentation, including time entry, progress notes, and inspection summaries.
Use Trane Connect to manage workflows, organize issues, and support communication.
Provide timely communication and updates throughout the day on service requests, inspections, and customer interactions.
Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and other Microsoft Office tools.
Serve as a primary customer-facing representative with professionalism and strong communication skills.
Maintain flexibility for overtime or weekend support as business needs require.
