This role is critical to ensuring that our tortillas and flatbreads consistently meet food safety and quality standards. The QC Inspector will perform routine checks, document findings, support internal audits, and collaborate with production and warehouse teams to maintain our high-quality standards.

What You'll Be Doing


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in enforcing Food Quality, Food Defense and Food Safety programs and procedures.
  • Perform quality control activities in all phases of production, maintenance & warehouse
  • Maintain effective communication with all operations personnel to identify, solve and prevent problems affecting food safety and quality.
  • Monitor, document and report finished product performance according to product specifications to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Perform inspection of raw and packaging materials, work in process, and finished product according to company requirement.
  • Conduct physical and analytical testing of finished product which include but not limited to pH testing, weight and diameter check, moisture test, etc. Conduct monitoring of packaging line for effective verification of product weights, metal detection, lot code monitoring and product/package integrity.
  • Conduct Daily Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) inspections and participate in monthly facility self-inspection; report findings and provide recommendations to QA Manager.
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections of production equipment and facility prior to start of production.
  • Conduct equipment verification against approved standards to ensure equipment accuracy
  • Perform hygiene swabbing and environmental testing.
  • Ensure that all products are evaluated for Food Safety risks including allergens, contamination, etc.
  • Participate on the Quality System implementation and cooperate with the SQF Practitioner.
  • Reports food safety and quality problems to personnel with the authority to initiate actions
  • Inspects and certifies final product before packing by checking bag weights, lot codes and bag seals
  • Assist other Departments as required


Team Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Communicate effectively with production, maintenance, and warehouse staff to identify, report, and resolve issues.
  • Assist in implementing and improving quality systems in cooperation with the QA Manager and SQF Practitioner.
  • Participate in food safety team meetings and support third-party audits and certification efforts.
  • Take initiative to learn new quality processes, support special projects, and assist cross-functional teams as needed.


Requirements

  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to start at 4am PDT ideal (High need). (Shift differential pay for 4am shifts starting at $20 per hour)
  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat.
  • Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds. Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
  • Environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezer, outdoors, etc.)
