Job Title: Quality Control Inspector – Tile Manufacturing
Location: Healdsburg, CA
Job Type: Full-Time
Department: Quality Assurance
Reports To: Quality Control Manager / Production Manager
 
Position Summary:
McIntyre Tile, Inc. is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to support our tile manufacturing operations. This position plays a key role in ensuring the consistency and quality of ceramic and porcelain tile products through visual and dimensional inspections, adherence to standards, and active participation in process improvement.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
·       Perform inspections on finished products for surface defects, cracks, warping, sizing, and color consistency.
·       Verify that products meet company specifications, ANSI/ISO standards, and customer requirements.
·       Document inspection results and maintain detailed quality records and reports.
·       Report any non-conformance or process issues to supervisors and assist with root cause analysis.
·       Collaborate with production staff to prevent and correct quality defects in a timely manner.
·       Monitor kiln output and environmental variables that impact tile quality.
·       Participate in internal audits and assist during customer or regulatory inspections.
·       Follow all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
 
Qualifications:
·       High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or certification in quality assurance or manufacturing preferred.
·       1–3 years of experience in a quality control or inspection role, preferably in tile, ceramics, or construction materials manufacturing.
·       Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
·       Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
·       Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, email, data entry).
 
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
·       Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
·       Work is performed in a factory setting with exposure to heat, noise, and dust.
·       May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
 
Additional Duties:
Unload Kilns: Responsible for safely and efficiently unloading ceramic or brick products from kilns after firing. Tasks include handling hot materials with care, inspecting items for defects, organizing products for storage or further processing, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. 
 
Packing: Responsible for carefully packing tiles for shipment to ensure safe delivery. Duties include inspecting tiles for damage, wrapping and boxing products securely, labeling packages accurately, and maintaining a clean, organized packing area. Must follow safety and quality standards.
