Job TitleSoftware Engineer - Image Reconstruction (C++/CUDA)Job Description

Software Engineer - Image Reconstruction (C++/CUDA)

Continue your engineering career on a team building the future of medical imaging. Join the Computed Tomography (CT) High-Performance Computing team, where you'll grow alongside experienced engineers and physicists-and see your work reach clinicians and patients in Philips CT scanners around the world.

Your role:

  • Contribute to the development of our next-generation, GPU-accelerated reconstruction platform under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Work alongside engineers, physicists, and other team members to implement signal and image processing algorithms in efficient, high-performance code.
  • Write, test, document, and maintain software as part of an industry-leading CT reconstruction platform.
  • Learn to analyze algorithm specifications and prototypes to help identify efficient compute designs.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to speed your work, and explore how learned models can approximate expensive physics with fast, accurate equivalents.
  • Deliver quality software with a growing focus on end users, quality (QMS/regulatory standards), performance, safety, and security.

You're the right fit if:

  • You have a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field; a background in the theory of medical image formation is a plus.
  • You have 1+ year of professional experience, including internships or co-ops, developing software in C++.
  • You have a strong foundation in C++ from coursework, projects, or work experience, and you are eager to deepen it-some of our best engineers came straight from programs that teach computer science in C++.
  • Exposure to GPU programming (CUDA, OpenCL, or HIP) is a plus, but a genuine eagerness to learn GPU-centric development matters most.
  • You have a foundation in image or signal processing; experience with MATLAB and Python is helpful, but strong C++ fundamentals are the primary requirement for this role.
  • You are excited by performance-curious about profiling, parallelization, and getting the most out of modern GPUs. Curiosity about applying machine learning to accelerate scientific or physics computation is a plus.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
