Job Summary

The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for creating and managing BI and analytical solutions that turn data into knowledge. In this role, this person should have a background in data and business analysis and have the keen ability to translate business needs to technical specifications. This position is responsible for development of visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards with secondary duties involving creating data sources using TSQL queries, report creation, and maintenance using SSRS. The Business Intelligence Developer will serve as a liaison between business lines and IT to collaborate with these teams to integrate systems as needed.

  • Develop and manage effective working relationships with other departments, groups and personnel with whom work must be coordinated or interfaced
  • Gather and document functional and technical requirements, and translate requirements into reporting solutions, analytic tools and dashboards
  • Develop visual reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop based on business requirements; publish and support all dashboards across the company
  • Develop in-depth understanding of underlying data, data structures, and business uses to ensure reports meet client need
  • Expertise in using advanced level calculations on data sets
  • Develop and update technical documentation of report logic and processes
  • Coordinate quality control and peer review processes to ensure integrity of the data available to users
  • Provide support as required to ensure the availability and optimized performance of developed reports and dashboards for both external and internal users
  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrate respect for others
