Payroll Specialist
LaSalle Network is hiring for a Payroll Specialist with a respected nonprofit organization on Chicago's North Side. If you're a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist who enjoys supporting mission-driven work, this is an opportunity to make a direct impact behind the scenes. This Payroll Specialist role offers the chance to collaborate with HR and Finance while ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
What's the job?
  • Process biweekly payroll through ADP Workforce Now
  • Audit payroll records, timecards and employee data for accuracy
  • Calculate wages, overtime, deductions and garnishments
  • Respond to employee payroll questions regarding pay, taxes and direct deposits
  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain payroll records for new hires, promotions and terminations
  • Coordinate payroll tax filings and year-end W-2 activities
  • Partner with HR and Finance to ensure accurate payroll data
  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and internal procedures

What's needed?
  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now, ADP RUN or similar ADP platforms
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws and payroll tax requirements
  • Advanced attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
