About the Role

As a Payment Operations Specialist I, you’ll support the day-to-day processing of payment transactions that keep member accounts accurate and payments moving smoothly. This entry-level role is a great opportunity to build foundational knowledge of ACH, check clearing, electronic payments, and payment operations while developing your skills in a detail-focused, team-oriented environment.

 

What You'll Do
  • Process routine payment transactions, including ACH, check clearing, and basic electronic payments. 
  • Perform daily balancing and reconciliation to ensure transaction accuracy. 
  • Review payment documentation for completeness and accuracy. 
  • Complete routine transaction processing, data entry, and operational tasks. 
  • Manage assigned queues and support daily department workflows. 
  • Identify and escalate exceptions, discrepancies, or unusual activity to the appropriate team members. 
  • Follow applicable payment rules, regulatory requirements, security standards, and internal controls. 
  • Build knowledge of payment systems, procedures, and industry requirements while contributing to a reliable member experience. 



What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, Communications, or a  High school diploma or equivalent. 
  •  0–2 years of financial institution, payment processing, banking, or operations experience preferred. 
  • Basic understanding of payment processing concepts; knowledge of ACH or NACHA rules is a plus. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems and technology. 
  • Ability to follow established procedures, manage assigned workload, and meet deadlines. 
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills. 
  • Dependable, curious, and eager to learn in a fast-paced operational environment.
