Their duties often include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and moving around. They may also help with taking vital signs, maintaining patient rooms, and reporting any changes in a patient's condition to the medical team. This role serves as an important part of the patient care team, ensuring comfort and safety for patients in hospitals, nursing homes, or other healthcare settings.

Entry Level Patient Care Assistants often encounter challenges such as managing a fast-paced environment, adapting to patients’ varying needs, and balancing multiple tasks efficiently. It's important to communicate clearly with nurses and other team members to ensure patient safety and comfort. Building strong organizational skills, staying proactive about asking questions, and seeking feedback can help new assistants overcome these challenges and grow in confidence. Additionally, many facilities offer mentorship or on-the-job training to support new staff as they acclimate.
