Job description

Job Title: Customer Service Representative (CSR)
Location: Remote
Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative (CSR) to support the IH&S Customer Service team. This entry-level position is ideal for someone who enjoys communicating with customers, managing order transactions, and resolving inquiries in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The CSR will be responsible for data entry, order tracking, and collaborating with internal departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
Shift:
  • Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 an Hour (Based on Experience)
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to customers via phone and email with a focus on responsiveness and professionalism.
  • Receive and process purchase orders, changes, price adjustments, and cancellations.
  • Review customer orders for accuracy: part numbers, terms, shipping/billing info, and delivery instructions.
  • Retrieve and update order data using MRP system.
  • Prepare and respond to requests for quotes using standard pricing and delivery terms.
  • Support basic technical inquiries and escalate complex issues to the Technical Support team.
  • Communicate with internal teams (Sales, Shipping, Accounting, Supply Chain) to resolve customer inquiries.
  • Issue and follow through on Returned Material Authorizations (RMAs) and credit memos.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and customer service files.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and participate in training.
  • Provide backup support to other CSRs as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Some customer service experience preferred; manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong data entry accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and resolve issues collaboratively.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
  • Remote/hybrid work flexibility available.
  • Extended periods of computer use and sitting.
  • Manual dexterity for document handling and data entry.
  • Occasional overtime may be required.
