Job description

Position Summary

Allied IT Systems is seeking an entry-level Network, Systems & Cybersecurity Analyst to join our Southeast Texas technical team. This position is designed for a recent graduate or early-career technology professional with strong technical aptitude, good communication skills, and a desire to develop experience across networking, systems administration, cybersecurity, and managed IT services.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineers and analysts to support client networks, servers, workstations, cloud platforms, cybersecurity systems, and related technology. The position will include structured training, hands-on experience, and opportunities for continued professional development.


Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for client workstations, servers, network devices, applications, and cloud services.
  • Assist with the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of switches, firewalls, wireless networks, and other network infrastructure.
  • Support Microsoft Windows environments, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, and related business technologies.
  • Monitor client systems, security alerts, endpoint protection platforms, backups, and network performance.
  • Assist with vulnerability assessments, patching, system hardening, cybersecurity remediation, and security documentation.
  • Investigate and document technical incidents, service requests, and cybersecurity alerts.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computers, software, printers, network equipment, and related technology.
  • Follow established technical standards, documentation requirements, escalation procedures, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Maintain accurate service tickets, technical notes, equipment records, and client documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, coworkers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in after-hours maintenance or support activities when scheduled.
  • Perform other technology-related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity, computer science, networking, information systems, or a related technical field.
  • Strong technical aptitude and demonstrated interest in networking, systems administration, or cybersecurity.
  • Up to one year of relevant professional, internship, military, laboratory, or hands-on technical experience.
  • Basic understanding of computer networking, including TCP/IP, IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, switching, routing, and wireless networking.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems and common business applications.
  • Ability to methodically troubleshoot technical problems and clearly document findings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, follow instructions, and ask questions when appropriate.
  • Dependable, professional, and willing to continuously learn new technologies.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Coursework, certifications, internships, military experience, home laboratory experience, or other hands-on exposure involving networks, servers, cloud services, or cybersecurity.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Entra ID, virtualization, firewalls, endpoint protection, backup systems, or remote monitoring tools.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Cisco, Fortinet, or similar entry-level certification.
  • Experience working with a managed service provider, IT help desk, public-sector organization, industrial facility, or maritime environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required client credentials, background clearances, and a Transportation Worker Identification Credential, when applicable.
