Details:
Desktop/IT Support
Duration: Full-time / Direct Hire
Location: Permian Basin, Texas: Midland/Odesa area of Texas - Onsite 4 days/week
Position Summary:
The IT Specialist will support IT systems at the Texas Permian Basin. This specialist will support, install, and maintain Desktops, Laptops, and Printers. Serves as the first point of contact for end users seeking technical assistance. Coordinates with internal IT team to resolve user problems and act as "remote hands".
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provides Tier 1 desktop support for hardware and software issues. Maintain work requests/ticketing system.
  • Diagnoses and supports other technology devices, including printers, monitors, office phones and peripherals.
  • Prepares and delivers new hardware to employees, including imaging, and configurations of desktop applications.
  • Coordinates with vendors for repairs (e.g., Hardware Vendor technicians for warranty repair/replacements)
  • Travels between 5 sites to assist end users and internal IT staff.
  • Maintains on-hand inventory of critical parts and components.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Background:
  • Ability to install, configure and maintain computers, hardware, and software
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the willingness to learn new things
  • Must have excellent customer service, and listening skills
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the IT field
  • Takes initiative, problem-solves, and demonstrates decision-making skills
  • Ability to multi-task across several ongoing tasks with varying priority
  • Ability to clearly communicate with both technical and non-technical staff
  • Flexibility with schedule and willingness to work after hours and on weekends if necessary

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Background
  • 2+ years of technical work experience in support of desktop technologies
  • CompTIA A+ Certification
  • Low-level understanding of networking and networking principals
  • Experience racking/stacking server and networking equipment
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory and/or Office 365.
