About This Opportunity

InComm is seeking a Network NOC Engineer I to join our Network Operations Center (NOC). This is an entry-level networking position that provides an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to build a career in Network Operations and Engineering. The successful candidate will monitor network and infrastructure services, perform initial troubleshooting, manage incident tickets, and collaborate with senior engineers to ensure the availability and reliability of critical business systems.

About the Network Operations Center (NOC)

The Network Operations Center serves as the front line of Network Engineering and is responsible for monitoring network health, responding to alerts, managing incidents, and assisting with routine operational requests. The team provides 24x7 operational support for InComm's network infrastructure and services.


Responsibilities
  • Monitor enterprise network and infrastructure systems using approved monitoring tools.
  • Identify, investigate, and respond to network alerts and events.
  • Perform first-level troubleshooting of network and connectivity issues.
  • Create, update, and maintain incident tickets throughout the incident lifecycle.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior engineering teams following established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and vendors during incidents.
  • Participate in shift handoffs and operational reviews.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within the NOC.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule

  • Sunday through Thursday
  • 10:00 PM ET to 7:00 AM ET
  • Shift differential applicable

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 0-3 years of experience in a NOC, Help Desk, IT Operations, Technical Support, or related technical role.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, CIS, MIS, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Basic understanding of:
    1. TCP/IP
    2. DNS
    3. DHCP
    4. Routing and Switching Fundamentals
    5. VLANs
    6. VPN Concepts
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Ability to work the assigned overnight schedule.
  • Must be available for the 10:00 PM ET to 7:00 AM ET Sunday - Thursday shift.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent networking education/certification.
  • Experience working with ticketing and incident management systems.
  • Exposure to Cisco networking technologies.
  • Exposure to network monitoring platforms and diagnostic tools.
  • Basic understanding of firewalls, routing, switching, load balancing, or wireless networking technologies.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or IT service management concepts.
