Job description

Founded in 1996 by Nick Floyd, 3 Floyds Brewing is an internationally recognized and award-winning craft brewery based in Munster, Indiana. With a passionate and devoted crew and loyal and rabid fan-base, we continue to craft some of the most sought-after beers in the universe, with an approach to brewing that continues to be innovative, unapologetic, and as always, โ€œnot normal.โ€


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Execute the necessary production duties including but not limited to wort

production, fermentation management, filtration and finishing, and bright beer

handling.

  1. Ensure that all beer is produced to standards and specification by following recipes

and procedures as set by Head Brewer and Head Cellar.

  1. Collaborate with Sensory Quality Manager to ensure beer meets internal quality standards.
  2. Alert Head Brewer immediately of any quality control issues.
  3. Follow best practice and safety requirements dutifully.
  4. Maintain brewing, cellaring, clarification, and other related documentation in an

organized and complete manner.

  1. Clean and sanitize all equipment and work areas to maintain consistent beer

quality.

  1. Maintain healthy communication with other departments
  2. Willingness to participate in festivals and promotional events as needed while representing the company and the brand in a professional manner.
  3. Maintain relationships with local vendors as needed for deliveries.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Role is 2nd shift โ€“ 2pm-10pm, Monday-Friday (subject to change)
  • Minimum of one or more years of professional brewing experience in a commercial brewery OR two or more years of experience working in a production role in a commercial brewery.
  • Must possess a well-rounded knowledge of brewing and beer styles.
  • Experience with wort and sour beer production as well as use of mechanical separator.
  • Brewer Certification or Fermentation Science education preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently.
  • Motivated by a passion for brewing and creating quality beer.
  • Comprehensive understanding of brewing science, production, and cellar operations.
