Project Engineer – Drive Commercial and Industrial Mechanical Projects with Horizon Mechanical Solutions


Job Overview:

You will support Project Managers by coordinating project documentation, tracking schedules, and helping keep commercial and industrial mechanical projects moving forward. How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Coordinate project documentation, including submittals, RFI logs, and change orders, to keep workflows moving efficiently.
  • Evaluate mechanical blueprints, specifications, and equipment schedules to ensure compliance with contract guidelines.
  • Collaborate directly with project managers, field superintendents, and subcontractors to maintain strict project timelines.
  • Monitor project procurement tracking logs to ensure materials and specialized HVAC equipment arrive on-site on schedule.
  • Facilitate the resolution of real-time design conflicts or field discrepancies by engineering effective technical solutions.
  • Attend site visits and project progress meetings, adapting to a 40% travel schedule across various project locations.


Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education or early career experience in mechanical, HVAC, engineering, construction management, or commercial construction. 
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, architectural plans, and technical specifications.
  • Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to track multiple project deadlines simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 40% of the time to support various job sites outside the immediate area.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred. 
  • Internship, co-op, or early career experience in commercial, industrial, or mechanical construction is preferred. 
  • Prior exposure to specialized manufacturer training, safety protocols, or industrial HVAC control systems.
