Job description

Work within a fast-paced team tasked with the design of sheetmetal enclosures, weldments, and other applicable customer designs.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Layout and design to support of quotations, orders and manufacturing projects
  • Ensure that standard shop practices and capabilities meet the design requirements and are reflected in designs and drawings
  • Secondary tasks include troubleshooting calls, calling vendors, update ECR's, contacting customers
  • Play a key role in manufacturing and productivity improvements
  • Solve manufacturing and assembly issues on the shop floor, both for short term and long term solutions
  • Assist to launch new product development
  • Conduct reviews of jobs released to the floor
  • Work towards continuous improvements for cost reductions and quality improvements
  • Work with quality, purchasing, assembly, and design staff to ensure efficiency
Desired Skills
  • High level of SOLIDWORKS Proficiency
  • Knowledge in an ERP system along with PDM experience preferred
  • Experience in sheet-metal & weldment design is desired
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processesand able to work with changing priorities
  • Hands on individual who can work from concept through implementation
  • Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Design or related field desired
