Job description

Overview

We are seeking an Entry Level Mechanical Machinist to join our Screw Machine Academy with a dynamic team in Kentwood, MI. If you have a passion for machining and a keen eye for detail, we want to hear from you!

Company Tornos Training Academy will focus on:

  • Basic Components and Operations of a Tornos Screw Machine.
  • Operational Controls and Basic Maintenance.
  • Preparing Bar Stock and Restocking.
  • Identifying the Cause of Quality Defects.
  • Changing Tools and Adjusting Slides.
  • Shaving, Roller Supports and Floating Holders.
  • Maintaining Collets, Pushers and Replacing Cutoff Tools.
  • Adjusting Pickoff and Cutoffs.
Qualifications
  • Must work night shift - 8pm-6am (50 hours a week)
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical background or certification in machining is a plus.
  • Pass an onsite mechanical aptitude test
  • Train on day shift for 4-6 weeks before moving to nights
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude.
  • Enjoys hands-on work and learning.

For positions requiring access to technical data, NN, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. As such, applicants for this position โ€“ except U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents, and protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) โ€“ may have to go through an export licensing review process.
