We are actively looking for a Structural Engineer to join our Raleigh office. The successful candidate will work with a collaborative team on the analysis, design, and rehabilitation of structural and waterfront infrastructure projects, with opportunities to build technical expertise under the guidance of experienced engineers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing of concrete, steel, timber, and composite structures.
  • Develop design calculations, plans, specifications, quantity take-offs, and construction cost estimates.
  • Use structural analysis and modelling software to support static and dynamic structural evaluations.
  • Coordinate structural designs and drawings with engineers, drafters, project managers, and other disciplines.
  • Assist with site visits, inspections, condition assessments, and preparation of related reports.
  • Support construction administration by reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, and contractor submittals.
  • Participate in project and client meetings while continuing to develop independent engineering judgment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with structural engineering coursework or a closely related discipline required;
    • Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • 0–2+ years of relevant structural engineering experience; internship or cooperative education experience in heavy civil, structural, marine, or waterfront design is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, or comparable drafting platforms.
  • Proficiency or working familiarity with structural analysis software such as SAP2000, STAAD, or comparable tools.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Availability and willingness to travel occasionally for project and site needs.
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
