Position Scope

The Entry-Level Field Technician role is a hands-on opportunity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You'll work alongside experienced technicians supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial production equipment. This position offers paid training, career advancement, full medical and dental benefits, and paid travel for all required assignments. If you're seeking a long-term career in the skilled trades or industrial maintenance field, this is a strong starting point.
Key Responsibilities
As part of our manufacturing and industrial equipment support team, you will contribute to essential field operations, equipment installation, preventative maintenance, and production system reliability.
  • Assist in the installation, inspection, and repair of manufacturing equipment by following written or verbal instructions, diagrams, and drawings
  • Perform basic maintenance, adjustments, and troubleshooting under the supervision of senior technicians
  • Help fabricate, replace, or adapt parts to support proper equipment operation and efficiency
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, using proper protective gear and following all safety procedures
  • Conduct oneself as a representative of FPS, maintaining a professional appearance, language, and attitude at all times
  • Travel to project sites as required and work extended or overtime hours when necessary to meet production or project deadlines
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and a general understanding of tools, machinery, and basic fabrication techniques
  • Possess foundational welding experience or a willingness to learn welding and fabrication as part of skill development
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing hands-on work for extended periods in a fast-paced setting
  • Use a cell phone responsibly to communicate and coordinate work-related needs while on assignment
  • Perform basic math computations used in measurements and equipment setup
  • Display a strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and teamwork
  • Remain open to learning new technical skills and communicating effectively with supervisors and coworkers
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and maintenance operations
