Optical Technician (Entry-Level) – Recent Graduates Welcome

Start Your Career in Optical Care with IQ Optical

Have you recently completed an optician training program and are ready to begin your career in the optical industry? IQ Optical is seeking a motivated Optical Technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience while continuing to develop their clinical and technical skills in a modern, fast-paced practice.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist patients throughout their visit, providing exceptional customer service from start to finish.

  • Perform pre-testing for telemedicine eye examinations, including confrontational visual acuity testing, auto-refraction, tonometry, and other diagnostic screening tests.

  • Obtain and document patient medical and ocular history accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).

  • Prepare patients for examinations by ensuring all preliminary testing is completed accurately and efficiently.

  • Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that best meet their prescription, lifestyle, and visual needs.

  • Interpret prescriptions and apply optical knowledge to recommend appropriate lens designs, coatings, and specialty products.

  • Take precise optical measurements, including pupillary distance (PD), fitting heights, and other dispensing measurements.

  • Verify completed eyewear for accuracy and perform frame adjustments, fittings, and minor repairs.

  • Educate patients on eyewear care, lens options, coatings, and available vision solutions.

  • Process and track eyewear orders while maintaining accurate records.

  • Maintain a clean, organized optical dispensary and ensure diagnostic equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an optician training program or equivalent optical experience.

  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
