Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney

About the Company

Grellas Shah LLP's corporate practice specializes in providing legal services to emerging tech and other ventures. Our practice focuses on critical life-cycle events such as formation, hiring, incentives, funding, acquiring, and positioning for acquisition. Deal work, such as venture financings and acquisitions, are a core part of our practice. We also often serve in an outside general counsel role for our clients, handling day-to-day legal needs.


Role Overview

This is a Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney role focused on complex business disputes. You will work as part of a team across matters that vary in scope and subject matter, contributing across different stages of litigation based on your experience and the needs of the case.

The role offers exposure to a broad range of litigation work rather than a narrow or repetitive workflow. You will be expected to take on meaningful responsibility as part of a team, develop your judgment, and grow your ability to handle increasingly complex matters over time.


Responsibilities

  • Work on a range of commercial litigation matters, including general commercial, intellectual property, securities, and employment disputes
  • Participate in litigation matters at different stages, contributing to strategy and execution within a team
  • Draft and respond to motions, briefs, and discovery
  • Take and defend depositions and participate in court proceedings as appropriate
  • Conduct factual investigation and manage document review, including electronic discovery
  • Collaborate closely with partners and other attorneys across active matters


Required Qualifications

  • JD from a top-tier law school
  • Experience in commercial litigation at a large law firm
  • Strong analytical thinking and writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across matters
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Member of the California Bar


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in intellectual property, trade secret, copyright, or trademark litigation
  • Experience working across a broad range of litigation matters
  • Background handling complex litigation, including depositions and motion practice
  • Experience contributing to multiple phases of litigation matters within a team setting


Compensation and Benefits

Base salary: $230Kto $250K depending on experience
