Job description

Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as an Intellectual Property Specialist. This position will be located in Rolla, MO and is a Hybrid role. Will be open to remote for the right candidate.
Summary:
Intellectual Property Specialists will identify, analyze, protect, and manage Brewer Science intellectual property.
Responsibilities:
  • Support invention activities and intellectual property protection, including performing and summarizing literature and patent searches, assisting with patent planning and drafting, assisting with office action research and strategy, and recordkeeping.
  • Review and revise external communications to ensure that they appropriately convey Brewer Science intellectual property in a clear and professional manner.
  • Assist with legal issues and communications related to intellectual property and relationship management.
  • Proactively educate internal clients to ensure that intellectual property goals and objectives are met.
  • Work with business and technical teams to determine best path for IP protection on a case-by-case basis under supervision.
  • Provide basic training on IP to other employees and update existing trainings.
Education amp; Credentials:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in chemistry or biology preferred, with 8 semester hours of chemistry of physics, or 32 semester hours of chemistry, physics, biology, or engineering required.
  • 0-2 years of experience required.
  • Juris Doctorate Degree preferred.
  • USPTO Patent Registration preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience.
