About the Role
LodgeLink is hiring Software Engineers in Calgary to join our team.ย  As a Software Engineer , you will be part of a cross-functional team that builds, supports, and improves web applications. You will contribute to the software development life cycle, gain hands-on experience with front-end and back-end technologies, development practices, testing, and Agile delivery. This role is intended for an early-career developer who is eager to learn, write quality code, and grow within a collaborative team.

This role is in Calgary, AB and is in-office with 20% flexibility to work from home.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain web application features using React, Node, GraphQL, REST APIs, and related technologies with support and guidance from senior team members.

  • Contribute to small-to-medium development tasks, bug fixes, and enhancements while learning team coding standards, testing practices, and deployment processes.

  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, stand-ups, and team discussions to understand requirements, ask questions, and improve technical knowledge.

  • Work with engineers, product owners, and other team members to clarify requirements and deliver reliable, maintainable solutions.

  • Write and update basic technical documentation, tests, and support notes as part of normal development work.

ย Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of foundational experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and an interest in growing skills with React, Node, GraphQL, REST APIs, and object-oriented programming concepts.

  • Basic understanding of the software development life cycle, clean code practices, version control, and Agile development methods.

  • Ability to follow established software development patterns, coding standards, and best practices with guidance from the team.

  • Basic knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL; exposure to ORM tools such as TypeORM is considered an asset.

  • Familiarity with automated testing concepts and testing tools such as Playwright is considered an asset.

  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence is considered an asset.

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent education, training, or practical experience.
