Job Description

Peterson Power Systems has a need for an Inside Sales Representative based at our Eugene, OR location.

SUMMARY

The Inside Sales Representative ("ISR") position is responsible for providing sales coverage to support Peterson's Power Systems retail customers. Contact will be made through direct and indirect channels. The ISR is responsible for supporting customers directly and via supporting the outside sales team. The ISR will follow up on product sales leads (parts and service). Additionally, the ISR is to work with the sales team (management and sales reps) to grow existing customer accounts, facilitate lead generation. This is an entry level sales position with the intent of training and mentoring this position to advance to an outside sales role.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Generate customer quotes for recommended repair work
  • Assists in the renewal of CSP (customer support plans) agreements.
  • Accountable for Customer Relationship Management ("CRM") input with retail customers within assigned territory.
  • Responsibilities include gathering and updating customer equipment lists and completing assigned outbound calls.
  • Uses Sales Link to document customer information, leads, activities and sales transactions.
  • Conducts parts research for Caterpillar ("Cat") and other manufactures.
  • Contacts prospective customers to determine customer needs, present product information, and explain available services. Provides information brochures and other literature to inform customers and influence buying decisions.
  • Evaluates leads, effectively and efficiently, and determines whether to respond or pass the lead to sales resources management for assignment.
  • Develop product knowledge on Cat and competitive products in order to offer the best solutions based on customer interests and concerns.
  • Presents equipment and finance options and solutions, as needed.
  • Quotes ESC (extended service coverage) coverage to equipment owners.
  • Follows all sales processes and procedures.
  • Partners with management to ensure marketing campaigns are directed to the right opportunities for retail customers.
  • Assists with customer surveys as needed.
  • Works safely at all times, adheres to all applicable safety policies and complies with all company policies, procedures and standards.
  • Works within and promotes corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization.
  • Respectfully takes direction from supervisor/ manager.
  • Excellent work habits, attention to detail, attendance, punctuality, safety and cooperation are essential functions of this job.
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of a High School diploma and at least three (3) years industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the engine and power systems industry is preferred.
