We are seeking a new team player to fill our Industrial Engineer position available at our La Vergne TN manufacturing facility. This is an ON SITE position.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated entry-level Industrial Engineer to support manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives. In this role, you will work closely with engineering and production teams to improve efficiency, support data-driven decision-making, and assist with shop-floor process optimization. This is a hands-on position designed to provide broad exposure to manufacturing systems, Lean principles, and operational analysis.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manufacturing Operations amp; Process Improvement
  • Conduct time and motion studies, cycle time analysis, and line balancing to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
  • Support Lean manufacturing initiatives such as 6S, waste reduction, and value stream mapping.
  • Assist in continuous improvement projects (Kaizen) with production teams on the shop floor.
  • Collect and analyze process data to support efficiency and capacity improvements.
2. Data Analysis amp; Systems Support (SAP / Reporting)
  • Extract and analyze production and operational data from SAP.
  • Support maintenance of production data, and BOMs in SAP under supervision.
  • Develop and maintain Excel and Power BI dashboards for operational reporting and performance tracking.
  • Assist in maintaining visual management tools such as SQDC boards.
3. Documentation amp; Process Support
  • Support the creation and updates of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate and organized process documentation.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for production issues and support implementation of corrective actions.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across engineering and production records.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to support operational needs.
  • Contribute to special projects assigned by the Engineering Manager.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience (internships and co-ops acceptable).
  • Basic understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to spend time on the shop floor working with operations teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with time studies, line balancing, or capacity analysis.
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification (or coursework exposure).
