Job description

Salary: $60,000-$70,000 Per Year

About the Role

The successful candidate will work with multidiscipline teams on a wide range of building projects providing structural design and analysis. As an entry level member of our structural team, you will work with our structural engineering group under a licensed Professional engineer to complete a variety of project tasks. Assignments will include design and analysis, structural modeling and drafting, detailing, construction administration services, structural inspections, and technical report writing with guided supervision. The position requires introductory knowledge of structural engineering principles and mathematical skills. Experience with structural design software such as STAAD or Ram as well familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD are a plus. The ability to coordinate and communicate clearly with team members is vital, with additional emphasis on organization and attention to detail. The candidate will have an integral role on our design team and in the production of constructable drawings for a multitude of successful projects.

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of structural engineering principles related to the design of buildings
  • Ability to complete basic structural analysis for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood with oversite
  • The ability and willingness to review and learn design codes such as Building Code of New York State, International Building Code, ASCE-07, AISC, and ACI
  • Team and support cross-discipline colleagues per direction of project leads
  • Take initiative, problem solve, and be excited to learn on a daily basis
  • Effectively communicate through oral, written, and visual means with project teams
  • Bachelor of Science or Engineering in Civil Engineering is required. An emphasis on Structural Engineering or Masters in Structural Engineering is a plus
  • 0-2 Year of Experience
  • EIT Certification, or ability and desire to obtain EIT certification within 1 year of hire
  • Desire and willingness to learn
