As an entry-level Human Resource professional, you can expect to be involved in a variety of foundational HR tasks such as assisting with recruitment processes, onboarding new hires, maintaining employee records, and supporting payroll or benefits administration. You may also be responsible for responding to employee inquiries, organizing training sessions, and helping ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws. Collaboration with team members in HR and other departments is common, which provides valuable exposure to different HR functions and helps build your professional network. These responsibilities are designed to give you a broad understanding of HR operations and prepare you for more specialized roles as you advance.

Is HR replaced by AI?

Human Resources (HR) roles at the entry level involve tasks such as recruiting, onboarding, and employee relations that require human judgment and interpersonal skills. While AI tools can assist with tasks like resume screening and data analysis, they do not fully replace HR professionals, as human oversight and decision-making remain essential in managing workplace relationships and compliance.

Entry-level human resource positions often do not require prior experience and focus on skills such as communication, organization, and basic knowledge of employment laws. Candidates can improve their chances by obtaining relevant certifications like the SHRM-CP or PHR and demonstrating a willingness to learn. Employers may provide on-the-job training for new hires without experience.
