The DevOps Engineer, is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and resilient DevOps solutions. This role leverages extensive knowledge of cloud platforms, automation tools, and CI/CD pipelines to drive the continuous integration, delivery, and deployment processes to enhance the efficiency and reliability of software delivery. 

This is a remote position and candidates must live within approximately a 70-mile radius of our office locations in Allen, TX; Louisville, KY; Springfield, MO; or Monett, MO.

All positions, regardless of location, may require an onsite interview or in-person onboarding requirement to verify your identity.  

What you will be responsible for:

  • Learn to actively participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including research, prototyping, detailed design, development, technical documentation, and defect fixing.
  • Learns to contribute to the technical design and implementation of system deployment automation and configuration management tools.
  • Learns the developing software in appropriate scripting languages using agile design-build-test methodologies.
  • Learns to construct, improve, and maintain the automated deployment pipelines.
  • Collaborates effectively with team members from different disciplines, including developers, operations, and quality assurance and communicates progress, challenges, and solutions in a clear and timely manner.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to have:

  • 3 year of experience in specialized engineering role, such as previous experience, apprenticeship, internship, or a combination.
  • Experience with SQL and Datadog.
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell, Java, NodeJS, Azure DevOps or Jsource.
  • Will be able to work an on-call rotation for 1 week every 8 weeks.  

What would be nice for you to have:

  • Learns to use professional concepts. Applies knowledge and basic problem-solving techniques to define and resolve problems. Determines a course of action based on guidelines. Works on problems of limited scope. 
  • Experience or working knowledge of SQL, PowerShell, Datadog, Azure DevOps, Octopus and fintech. 
  • Exercises good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. 
  • Ability to demonstrate basic skills in the following areas: System deployment automation and system configuration management 
  • Software design and implementation 
  • Analysis and design at multiple-project level 
  • Research, analysis and problem resolution 
  • Communication and interpersonal 
  • Ability to learn to complete deliverables for each phase of the development cycle.
