Description

The Craftsman Apprentice is an entry-level position responsible for learning the skills, techniques, and responsibilities of a skilled craft professional while assisting journey-level employees in the safe and efficient completion of construction and maintenance work. Under the direction of supervisors and experienced craftsmen, apprentices receive hands-on training while developing the knowledge and abilities required to become fully qualified in their assigned trade.


The Craftsman Apprentice is expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, teamwork, attendance, and continuous learning.

  • Assist skilled craftsmen with installation, repair, maintenance, fabrication, and construction activities.
  • Gather, organize, and transport tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Prepare work areas before assigned tasks begin.
  • Clean and maintain work areas throughout the project.
  • Operate hand and power tools under supervision.
  • Assist with measuring, cutting, fitting, assembling, and installing materials appropriate to the assigned craft.
  • Support project activities while following established work procedures and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Enrollment in or willingness to participate in an approved apprenticeship program.
  • Previous construction or industrial experience is helpful but not required.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety practices is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • TWIC card (if required by the client).
